Colombia unveils bidding for £2.4bn of PPP highways

Colombia has opened prequalification for four PPP highway projects with a combined value of 4.76 trillion pesos (£2.44bn).

The Ministry of Transport and national infrastructure agency, ANI, of Columbia have unveiled prequalification for four PPP highway projects covering a total length of 704km and a value of 4.76 trillion pesos (£2.44bn). The project ranges in length from 80km to work on 260km of the Villavicencio - Yopal corridor.

The projects for new roads are undertaken to enhance protection, minimize journey times and reduce operating costs related to cargo transport. Moreover, new opportunities will be available with advanced systems and information technology for control and operation.

 

Initially one has to provide an expression of interest to participate in bidding. Ten prequalified bidders will be promoted to the second stage.

The winning bidder will sign a PPP concession contract covering studies and final designs, financing, environmental management, construction, renovation, operation and maintenance.
